Ted’s Oldtimer LaPaz Batchoy is one name that you should remember when it comes to the name batchoy. It has been serving the Ilonggo community since 1945. Through the years, it has slowly expanded its reach, beginning to put up branches in other provinces of the country – and even reached the capital.

What We Had
Bihon Batchoy will always be my choice. Wherever branch it is or whatever batchoy place will it be, bihon batchoy is my priority. For mom? She had her special bowl of batchoy. When we asked the cashier why is the bowl called special, she responded: “kumpleto sa panakot”. You decide through the pictures if kumpleto guid man.
How to Get There
Alright. Ted’s Oldtimer LaPaz Batchoy has a lot of branches in the city. I will be giving out the directions instruction in our favorite branch – Mary Mart Center.
As mentioned, this branch is located at the Mary Mart Center and almost all routes are passing by the area. All you need to do is to ask the driver to drop you here. For Ledesma Wing, jeepney passing by the area are Calumpang, Timawa, Baluarte, all kinds of Mandurriao, LaPaz.
For Valeria Wing, jeepneys that are passing by the area are Jaro Liko Tagbak Terminal, LaPuz, Bo. Obrero, Ungka ITGSI. When you are riding Jaro CPU, you can drop by at Socorro Drugstore or corner Amigo Hotel and walk a block.
With all the batchoy wars of who came first and who is the original one, just pause and order one bowl from your favorite spot. Sometimes, it is not about the name anymore; it becomes the amount of comfort the food can give the moment you start to eat.
