Tangyan Festival: Municipality of lgbaras

TANGYAN FESTIVAL
Municipality of lgbaras
Every last week of May

The celebration promotes activities based on nature thus encouraging a direct contact with the rich natural heritage of the municipality of Igbaras. Visitors can experience different activities suitable for all ages. In addition to these activities there are many more as part of this festival celebrating sport, entertainment, culture and Igbaras traditions.

The town unites in recognizing the economic importance of Tangyan River to its people. The river has functioned as the economic heartland where lgbarasnons are engaged in agriculture. As they say, the most fertile areas for farming are in the plains near the Tangyan tributaries where it provided irrigation water for their agricultural produce.

Tangyan Festival is dedicated to the preservation and protection of their natural and cultural heritage and to be able to share them with the younger generation.
