A trip in Iloilo would not be held complete without trying the fresh seafoods and family handed-down recipes for lutong bahay. Even for us locals, it is always a good idea to go somewhere where we can devour these home-cooked meals.
Iloilo being blessed with abundant seas, will never run out of the best seafood choices. Every seafood and grill restaurant along the coastal area an within the bounds of the city are worth trying. One of the foodie place in Coasta Del Estrella Food Park in Coastal Road is Payag Seafood and Manokan by Pepron.
Payag by Pepron Menu
It has a typical family and barkada bonding food favorites – different way of preparing native chicken, pork, talaba, sisig, pantat, shrimp and everything goes well with beer or soda.
What We Had
We had one sumptuous late lunch. It was a good combination of a platter of garlic rice, baked talaba, chicken and sisig bangus. We had all these in less than P1000 with drinks.
How to Get There
Honestly, I do not know how to commute going here. Every time we eat around Jaro to Dumangas area, we take private vehicle. But I think this would be an ideal option:
From Metropolis in Tagbak, Jaro, you can take a tricycle in the entrance and tell the driver to take you in the area. Taxi is also a convenient choice.
To reach Metropolis area, you can take a Jaro Liko Tagbak Terminal jeep in city area or a Leganes Highway from Diversion Road.
The place is al fresco which makes it best to come when the weather is fine. Enjoy these meals with an overlooking view of the water that separate Iloilo from Bacolod and Guimaras. The sunset view is also superb when you come here for early dinner.
