Are you looking for a budget holiday escape? With only 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Iloilo City, this is the one that you might be looking for – Guisi Lighthouse and Beach.
I have been to Guisi many times before but I failed to document it properly so when my friends would ask how to get there, I’ll start all over again. Now I can just send the link.
You can reach Guisi Lighthouse and Beach’s crystal clear waters by riding a motor banca from Iloilo to the province of Guimaras.
From Jordan Port, you can ride a Jeepney bound to Dolores (Nueva Valencia Pandaraonan route) afterwhich a short habal-habal ride will take you to the lighthouse and the beach.
Budget Breakdown
Iloilo – Jordan port – 14php
Jordan to Crossing Dolores – 40php
Dolores to Guisi – 30/habal-habal 15/pax (2pax max / Habal2x)
There are several resorts in the area with entrance fees starting from 50php and you can already enjoy the beach and the water but if you are as thrifty as I am, read my exclusive tip below.
It’s always better to go there early in the morning so you can enjoy the morning light taking pictures in the ruins of the light house called Faro De Punta Luzaran. It is better to bring your own food too, a picnic mat or tent to be your shield from the sun.
Take note that the jeepney going back to Jordan is only until 3PM so it would be best to arrive there early you can maximize your stay.
Lester’s Savings Tip
How to save the money allotted for entrance fee?
There is an entrance fee, but if you want to save it, you can go directly in the light house instead of heading straight to the beach. In the lighthouse, you will only be asked for little amount as donation. After picture taking you can use the stairway leading to the beach.
Hope this helps!
