It’s 2021 yet Wewin’s is still one of my favorite bakeshop at the heart of downtown Iloilo. Located right at the busiest street of the city, you might often be passing by the area. Although the opportunity gives birth to a modern cafeteria and hangout places, spots like Wewin’s will always have its place in the history.
The bakeshop is located at Iznart Street right beside Mercury Drug Store along Iloilo Chinese Commercial School. It has served the Ilonggos freshly baked foods since 1976. Most of my birthday cakes were purchased from here – it was a good memory.
Their breads are conveniently displayed so you can easily choose what you want from their stall.

Aside from bread and pastries, they also serve short-order meals and rice meals fit for an Ilonggo pocket. They are also serving meals for lunch – this part is my mom’s favorite! She would chose to eat her lunch her after purchasing her goodies for her Sari Sari store in a nearby grocery.

How to Get There
Because it is located in the heart of the city, almost all PUJ is passing by the area namely – Baluarte Derecho, Jaro CPU, Jaro CPU Ungka, SM City Proper, LaPuz and Bo. Oberero. Commuters of other jeepneys can drop by Socorro Drug Store or Unitop area and walk a little. This is applicable for people riding Timawa, Calumpang, Baluarte Liko, all kinds of Mandurriao and people from LaPaz.
This place is perfect if you are looking for a budget-friendly snack spot after a tiring shopping day at Calle Real.

They also have a number of pasalubong goodies that are ideal for you to take home to your family. Before the birth of modern, aesthetic and instagrammable food place in Iloilo, there is this one bakeshop that has withstood the test of time. Hope to see Wewin’s in the years to come.
