The newly created Negros Island Region (NIR) is composed of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor. It is an administrative region formed under Republic Act (RA) 12000 or NIR Act. Signed into law by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on June 13, 2024, the NIR will become operational starting in 2025.

Last April 2024, the Tuburan Sunset View was reopened to the public led by E.B Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon and Vice Mayor Eric Matulac. It is located at the Seaport of Barangay Tuburan. This tourist spot features a two-story viewing deck from which visitors may enjoy the view of the beautiful sunset.

Isla Madalag Eco Haven

This five-hectare mangrove area is located within the coastal barangay of Madalag in E.B. Magalona and already known mangrove eco-trail in Brgy. Tomongtong. Opened last June 2022, Isla Madalag Eco Haven features a bamboo restaurant serving SUTUKIL (sugba, tula, kilaw) fish, shrimp, crab, and seashell dishes.

I-Kulotz Payag Kainan and Mini-Resort

I-Kulotz Payag Kainan and Mini-Resort is in Barangay San Jose. It offers amenities like a swimming pool, a restaurant, on-site activities, and an event venue. This is ideal for couples, families, or small groups who want to avoid the crowds and noise of larger resorts.
