Balay Gamay is a restaurant located after Dungon V Bridge, Old Iloilo Airport Road before the entrance of Megaworld. If you are riding an SM City Mandurriao jeepney, it will pass by the area. In the middle of a bustling and fast-paced city there is an underrated Filipino restaurant which serves delightful meals without being heavy in the pockets.
Their setup is a resort-like ambiance where you can opt to have your food at the “cottages” area. There is also a larger cottage for larger groups. Tables and chairs are already setup and meals are cooked and prepared while you wait.
Balay Gamay Menu
Their offer are mostly seafood and grill and certified Pinoy favorites. One order is good for 2-3 persons. It is ideal to come in group to share the food but it is not a bad idea to dine solo or with a companion. They are also having their buffet offers on selected schedules. You can follow their page for buffet schedules. There are still a lot of food from their menu I want to try.
What We Had
We had a dinner buffet. It was a hearty meal with the following on the menu – chicken and pork barbeque (this is my top favorite), pancit molo, gising gising, kare kare, grilled tilapia, lumpia, alupi and so much more. Buffet options could vary depending on their offers.
How to Get There
As mentioned in the introductory sentence, Balay Gamay is located at Old Airport Road after Dungon V Bridge when going to Mandurriao or Megaworld areas. The best jeepney option you can ride are SM City Mandurriao, ALEOSAN (Alimodian, San Miguel and Leon jeepneys from Jaro Big Market) and Jaro Mandurriao.
This is another Iloilo restaurant you must visit. They also accept catering and event reservation. You can message them to book in advance.
