As Shopee Affiliate, the best way to protect our income is to understand the rules that can affect our commissions. Many affiliates lose earnings not because they do anything wrong, but because they don’t know the policies.

To help us avoid mistakes, here are the 10 most important Shopee Affiliate rules.

1. The “Last Click” Rule

We only earn a commission if our link is the last link the shopper clicks before buying.

If:

• they click our link
• then click another creator’s link
  → the other creator gets the commission, not us.

Cookie Duration (PH): around 7 days on both the App and Website.

2. The 6-Month Forfeiture Rule

If we don’t submit your complete and correct:

• bank details
• tax info (TIN, ID)

within 6 months of earning money, Shopee can permanently delete your balance. Once forfeited, we can’t get it back.

3. No Personal Purchases

We cannot use our own affiliate links to:

• buy items for ourself
• buy for our family or household

Shopee tracks this through our address, device ID, and account connections. If we break the rule, Shopee will charge back (remove) the commission.

4. Avoid Prohibited Content

Our social media account used for Shopee promotion must not contain:

• gambling content
• drugs
• tobacco
• hate speech
• other illegal or dangerous content

If our account has these, Shopee can terminate our affiliate status immediately.

5. Minimum Payout Threshold

We only get paid once you reach the required minimum amount.

• Outside the Philippines: must reach $500 USD
• Local affiliates: usually lower thresholds

Shopee will hold our balance until we reach the minimum payout amount.

6. No “Link Dumping”

Posting links without real content is not allowed.

Examples of violations:

• posting 50 links in a comment section
• sending only links without captions
• copy‑pasting the same content repeatedly

Shopee requires real promotion, not spam.

7. Respect Intellectual Property

We can use Shopee’s tools and links, but:

• we cannot edit Shopee’s logos or trademarks
• we cannot use copyrighted videos/photos that we don’t own

Always post original content or content we have the right to use.

8. Taxes Are Your Responsibility

Our earnings already include taxes, and Shopee will:

• withhold the proper tax amount (around 1%–10%)
• give us a BIR Form 2307 as proof

Make sure our tax details are correct to avoid delays.

9. PPP (Paid Partnership) Deadlines

If we join a PPP project where a seller sends you a free item:

• we must confirm delivery
• we must post your content on time

If we miss the deadline:

• the project is canceled
• we won’t get the Post Fee
• we can keep the product, but we get no payment

10. Fraud & Chargebacks

Shopee can remove commissions even after they show as “approved” if:

• the buyer returns or refunds the item
• the purchase was for bulk resale
• the order came from bots or fake accounts

Always promote to real shoppers to avoid chargebacks.

Additional Points to Remember:

1. Keep your profile info updated, stick to your “Fan Pages,” and remember that you only get a cut of the actual cash the buyer spent (not the original price)!
2. Keep it clean: Don’t post links on “sketchy” websites or personal FB profiles.
3. Submit your bank and tax info NOW. Don’t wait until you have a high balance.
4. Make original content. Don’t re-upload other people’s TikToks or Reels.
5. No “Spying” or “Stealing.” Don’t use bots or spam comments on other people’s posts.
6. Check your links. Ensure they lead to Shopee and not a competitor. (DON’T POST TIKTOK, LAZADA, SHEIN, TEMU, and other competitors)
7. Stay Clean: Shopee is always watching the “quality” of your media. Avoid “Prohibited Content” at all costs to avoid fines.
8. Don’t leak insider info about upcoming campaigns.
9. Be careful with copyrights if you get Shopee sued, you’re the one paying the bill.
