IDP-McCare IELTS Shared Lab is a new Computer-Delivered International English Language Testing System (“IELTS”).
What is IELTS?
The IELTS is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. IELTS is developed to provide a fair and accurate assessment of English language proficiency. Test questions are developed by language specialists from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the USA. The test covers four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
Residents of Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Guimaras, Antique, and even Bacolod don’t need to go far to schedule their IELTS exam. This is located on the 2nd Floor of 402 Arguelles Building, Jaro, Iloilo City (in front of Rob Jaro).
People of Western Visayas will now have access to the world’s leading high-stakes English language proficiency test for achieving their life goals abroad.
Why Go Computerized?
The computerized test can also deliver results in 3-5 days as compared to a paper-based IELTS exam which will take roughly around 13 days to deliver results. This will help examiners lessen their expenses, especially those who would need to book their hotels and accommodations.
The lab offers computer-delivered IELTS tests on Wednesdays to Sundays, with 9:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. sessions.
Is a Written Exam Still Available?
Yes, aside from the computerized test, the center also offers a written version of IELTS. There could be examinees who are not too comfortable yet using computers in taking exams. However, for the handwritten version, it would be helpful that the examinees must make sure to write legibly so the examiners to understand their answers upon checking.
Paper-based IELTS tests are offered once or twice a month.
Amenities
The testing center is equipped with a comfortable testing venue. They have computers with specs that are aligned with the needs of the examinees. They always make sure that every headset functions well for easy use during listening exams.
There are also two interview rooms.
The computer-delivered IELTS test is four hours long. The exam is composed of a 30-minute listening test, a one-hour reading test with 40 questions, and a one-hour writing test.
These are all administered by IELTS experts.
