Adoro Gallery-Museum and Tin-Aw Art Projects Present: Dagyaw – The 2023 Year-End Exhibition

Iloilo City – Adoro Gallery-Museum, in collaboration with Tin-aw Art Projects, proudly announces the opening of “Dagyaw: The 2023 Year-End Exhibition.” This group show features 40 artists from the Visayas and will run from December 17, 2023, until January 30, 2024.

Dagyaw, inspired by the Bisaya and Hiligaynon word for communal spirit, cooperation, and shared activity, aims to unite artists from the region in a celebration of diverse interpretations, inspirations, and expressions of shared culture. The exhibition draws insight from the bayanihan spirit, signifying the belief that united efforts can triumph over adversities.

Featured artists in Dagyaw include Faye Abantao, Salvador Joel Alonday, Nune Alvarado, Lester Amacio, Cezar Arro, Moreen Austria, Margaux Blas, Kristofer Brasileño, John Paul Cabanalan, Charlie Co, Marika Constantino, Marvin Dalisay, Ed Defensor, Richard dela Cruz, Jason Delgado, Antipas Delotavo, Noel Elicana, Tyrone Espinosa, Orland Espinosa, Brenda V. Fajardo, Vic Fario, Roedil Geraldo, Harry Macouy Gonzales, Melvin Guirhem, Allain Hablo, Jun Impas, Renwil Portodo, Jirah Labanza, Roland Llarena, Jecko Magallon, Kat Malazarte, Jomel Mirabuena, Shiela Molato, Mark Nativo, R.A. Tijing, Alvin Villaruel, Orley Ypon, Arel Zambarrano, PG Zoluaga, and Lisa de Leon Zyco.

Adoro Gallery-Museum, situated in Iloilo Prime Estates and owned by the Valencia family, presents this as its first annual year-end group exhibition. Ed Valencia, a respected art collector, whose works are showcased at the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA), is supported in this endeavour by his sister Gina. “Adoro” meaning to adore in Spanish, combines the names of the Valencia matriarch Adoracion and patriarch Doroteo.

Tin-aw Art Projects is known for promoting art that engages, surprises, and provokes. Tin-aw means “clear” in Ilonggo. Since 2008, Tin-aw has mounted over 120 local and international exhibitions, collaborating with museums, institutions, and other art organizations. From 2020, Tin-aw has adopted a mobile art projects model, focusing on artist management and joint exhibitions.
