Balbi’s: The Place to Get the Best Palabok in Town

Balbi’s is one refreshment in Iloilo City located at Valeria Street that has withstood the test of time. Despite the modernization of the restaurants, menu and marketing strategy of newer food entrepreneur in Iloilo, Balbi’s is still fighting strong through these challenges.

It is still located at SEBA serving our all-time favorite – pancit palabok, rice meals and pastries. With their humble tables and chairs, a lot of conversations through the years has been carried out in here.

There are tables and chairs available in the area and aside from the food choices they have in their menu board, they also have a glass stall where bread, pastries and cookies are displayed for sale. You can also these stuff best for dine in or take out.

Balbi’s Menu

Their bestseller is the palabok which you can have dine-in or take-out. You can also order dinuguan, grilled ensaymada and coffee.

What We Had

We ordered Palabok and rice meal for lunch. The sauce contains its Balbi’s signature through the years – definitely different than any other palabok in the city.

How to Get There

As mentioned, Balbi’s is located at Saint Elizabeth Building at Valeria Street. You can see its signage upon entering the building.

balbisThere is a good number of public utility jeepneys that are passing by the area. The building is just beside Atrium and at the back of SM Delgado. At the moment, the jeepneys that are passing by the area exactly are Jaro Liko Tagbak Terminal and LaPuz.

For decades, there are countless restaurants and places that has opened in modern setups and spot dedicated for food. With all the up-to-date marketing strategies and contemporary setup, I hope heritage and classic food places like Balbi’s will continue to strive until the next and next generations.
