The new Director of the Office of Continuing Education and Pahinungod (OCEP) is set on strengthening the University’s public service function.
Assistant Professor Maria Theresa C. Albaña has been appointed as the new OCEP Director effective October 19, 2022, until December 31, 2023.
In the plans and programs that she submitted before being appointed, Albaña emphasized the need to have: a stronger research and public service continuum, stronger collaborations with other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and the industry, stronger continuing professional education development program offerings, a stronger brand equity for UP Visayas as a public service university, and a stronger capacity for UPV constituents in doing public service.
Albaña is a faculty member of the Department of Accounting at the College of Management where she also earned her BS in Business Administration major in Marketing (2000) as well as her Master’s in Management (2012). (Ms. Mary Lyncen M. Fernandez, IPO)
