Religious Events
While Dinagyang has evolved into a vibrant cultural spectacle, its religious roots remain an integral part of its identity. It is a celebration honoring Santo Niño (the Child Jesus). The highlight will be the Grand Religious Sadsad on January 25, 2025, which will take place in front of San Jose De Placer Church.
Aside from this, there will be Novena Masses from January 17, 2025, to January 26, 2025, Sto. Niño Mass for Children, Healing Mass for Elders, Thanksgiving Mass, Fluvial Procession and Solemn Foot Procession, and blessing of Sto. Niño images.
Food Festivals
Dinagyang Festival isn’t just about the vibrant street dancing; it’s also a culinary adventure. Major thoroughfares are closed as early as the week of Dinagyang to give way for food store owners to set up their stalls. Malls are also organizing their versions of food festivals in their areas.
You can find a variety of local delicacies, from the famous La Paz Batchoy and Pancit Molo, local delicacies, seafood options, street food, and Chicken Inasal. Dinagyang provides an opportunity to showcase the diverse and delicious flavors of Ilonggo cuisine to both locals and tourists.
Side Events
Side events enrich the Dinagyang experience, and these offer a diverse range of activities for everyone to enjoy. There are pageants, marathons, motor shows, sporting events, drag shows, fun rides, art exhibitions, and more.
These add to a vibrant tapestry of events that immerse you in the Ilonggo spirit.
