What a fantastic day it was at the Italian Street Food Festival held at Trattoria D’Amore on August 16, 2025. The moment we stepped into the venue in Villa, our senses were immediately captivated. The air was filled with incredible aromas of savory spices and fresh ingredients, and the tables were a feast for the eyes, piled high with authentic Italian delights.

We kicked off our culinary adventure with two classic savory dishes. First, we had the Salsiccia con polenta, a hearty and rustic dish with perfectly cooked sausage served over creamy polenta. We followed that with the comforting Gnocchi al pomodoro, where the soft, fluffy potato dumplings were coated in a rich and flavorful tomato sauce. Each bite was a reminder of the simple, yet profound, flavors of traditional Italian cooking.

As our journey continued, we couldn’t resist the sweet treats. We savored the Sfogliatina con panna montata al cacao, a light and delicate pastry topped with cocoa-infused whipped cream that was just the right amount of sweetness. We also tried the Sugoli di uva, a delightful grape-based treat that offered a refreshing and unique taste.
Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying more of their street food specialties. The Piadina con mortadella was a standout—a simple yet satisfying Italian flatbread filled with savory mortadella. We also had the Cicchetti veneti, small savory bites that were perfect for sharing, and the Pomodoro ripieno, a beautifully stuffed tomato that was both fresh and flavorful.
Each dish was a testament to the rich and diverse culinary traditions of Italy. This festival was a beautiful reminder that you don’t need to travel far to experience authentic global flavors. We found a true taste of Italy right here in Villa.
