Due to its distinct weather of dry and wet season, the soil which is rich in calcium salts know as lime is an important element in fruit- growing, and the sea breeze that surrounds the island , adds on to its excellent taste. Guimaras was and is dubbed as the Mango Country of Visayas and the Island that produces the Sweetest Mangoes.
Aiming to protect the reputation of Guimaras mangoes, the fruit also has the Geographic Indication (GI) seal that will set them apart from other mangoes. The seal also shows the fruit has followed the Code of Practice for planting and harvesting, particularity the kind of soil and climate the fruits are grown in.

Manggahan Festival is a month long celebration that happens every year in the island-province /The major activities usually start on May 11 and will last until May 22 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, San Miguel, Jordan.
For an unforgettable experience, join the festival’s Mango Eat All You Can event where participants can eat all the mangoes they want in 30 minutes!
