If you are familiar with the Uswag Iloilo City Molecular Laboratory in Brgy. San Pedro, Molo, there is more good news to it as it will soon be converted into a clinical laboratory with the completion of the main facility in the area.
According to Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, as much as possible, Iloilo City Government would like to make the lab works available for free for city residents. It is also one of the aims to give the Ilonggos an excellent and sustainable healthcare services even beyond the pandemic.

Iloilo City Clinical Laboratory Services
Initial services include the following:
- diagnostic laboratory tests on urine;
- diagnostic laboratory tests on blood;
- diagnostic laboratory tests on cholesterol; and
- ultrasound package
The Uswag Iloilo Clinical Laboratory is targeted to operate this May 2022. According to Iloilo City PIO, the city has started its own RT-PCR testing in November 2020 duly accredited by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine of the Department of Health. And as of March 12, 2022, there were 162,423 swab samples collected, with 126,296 samples tested.

In addition, City Health Officer Dr. Annabelle Tang said they are planning to affiliate with universities offering medical technology course so that the clinical laboratory can serve as training ground for their students.
