Newly-Elected REPSA Officers Take Oath

Research, Extension, and Professional Services (REPS) personnel of the University of the Philippines Visayas took their oath as newly-elected officers of the REPS Association (REPSA) in the presence of UP Visayas Chancellor, Dr. Clement C. Camposano on the 25th of October 2022.

The officers, led by its re-elected president Dr. Mary Jane Amar, took their respective oaths aligned to their positions at the Office of the Chancellor following the REPSA election that happened in November 2021.

The elected officers began their term at the end of 2021 and will be serving a two-year term. The REPSA officers are as follows:

    • Genna Serofia (University Extension Specialist I, Institute of Fisheries Policy and Development Studies, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences)

REPSA provides an avenue for raising issues and concerns that non-teaching academic personnel face through a strong linkage with the All UP Academic Employees Union.

The association also opens possibilities for collaboration between different units to come up with research, extension, and public service activities.

It can be noted that last September 1 and 2, UPV REPS underwent training for research proposal writing organized by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension.

The newly-elected REPSA Officers will be leading different activities for the REPS of UP Visayas throughout their term. (Mr. Czar Ian Angel Esquivel and Ms. Ruby Napata)
