The Iloilo City Government is eyeing to convert public markets into mall-like facility with parking spaces on top.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said the plans will develop La Paz, Jaro Big, Arevalo and Mandurriao markets.
“It will have parking at second floor to allow more cars considering the customers who patronize our markets. We will work on the design,” he added.
The mayor noted the City Treasurer’s Office will determine a bank loan with the most favorable offer to finance the proposed development projects.
Treñas said upgrading of Central and Terminal markets will be entered into Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for prospective investors. (Iloilo City PIO)
