Iloilo City Appeals to IATF to Open Spas, Gyms and Museums

Iloilo City has sent an appeal to IATF to allow business establishments specifically spas, gyms and museums to operate. The post published by Mayor Jerry Treñas writes, “We sent a request to the IATF to allow some business establishments to operate as we see a terrible plight of our fellows belonging in these sectors. We are hoping for their consideration as we try to move towards recovery”.

Iloilo City is reclassified under MECQ status from August 16 to 31, 2021. There is a decrease of COVID-19 cases and in the healthcare utilization rate in the city and the IATF placed the metro under MECQ.

On the mentioned dates, protocols may be lighter but the virus is still present in the community. It is still expected that every Ilonggo must remember that the actions of one take a huge part in the battle against the unseen enemy.

Mayor Treñas also set a reminder to everyone not to be complacent and continue to follow the safety protocols to ensure Iloilo City’s recovery.
