Sparkling and “spanking new” stainless chairs greeted students at the College Union Building (CUB) and at the Common Dining Hall (CDH) when they returned to the UPV Miagao campus this February, which begins the 2nd semester of AY 2022-2023.
The 50 sets of stainless chairs, featuring a table with four attached seats, were acquired as part of the administration’s goal to improve the food services at the UPV Miagao campus.
In September last year, four kiosk operators opened at the CUB that featured four varieties of food that the students, faculty, and staff can choose from. This included home-cooked meals, budget meals, heavy snacks, coffee, and desserts. The CUB is strategically located near the colleges and offices.
The same setup was done at the CDH which is also strategically located near the dormitories and staff house areas. To further improve the services at the CDH, a Wi-fi service was installed in December 2023.
Another move to improve services for the UPV community in Miagao is the installation of kiosks in both the CUB and CDH that will sell school and office supplies, toiletries, and other dry goods items needed. (Ms. Mary Lyncen Fernandez, IPO)
