UPV Shares Christmas Celebration with Kids in Lumangan and Malagyan Communities

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Paskua 2022 festivities extended to the children of barangays Lumangan and Malagyan in Miagao town as they held their respective Christmas parties on Dec. 21, 2022.

Toys, gift packs, and food were enjoyed by the kids through UPV’s extended generosity for relocation communities.

The UPV Relocation Christmas Party Committee and the Site Acquisition and Resettlement Projects (SARP) of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development (OVCPD) represented the University in both events.

The University shared P15,000 each for the communities of Sitio 1 (Relocation Site 1) in Brgy. Lumangan and Sitio 2 (Relocation Site 2) in Brgy. Malagyan for their annual children’s parties.

The amount was turned over to the said barangays last Dec. 16 during the UPV Christmas Program held at the Miagao campus.

In addition, alumni, faculty, and staff pooled funds for the toys, candies, and clothes of the children-beneficiaries of the two communities.

UPV annually extends the Christmas celebration to these two communities for their children’s Christmas parties. The children-beneficiaries are heirs of affected landowners currently residing in the relocation centers.  (Mr. Carlson B. Alelis, IPO with sources from OVCPD SARP)
