17 LGUs Graduate from DOH-6’s MLGP

Seventeen local government units (LGUs) from Western Visayas graduated from the Municipal Leadership and Governance Program (MLGP) Cycle 3 of the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-6) in partnership with the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV).

DOH-6 together with UPV confirmed the graduates during the MLGP Cycle 3 Colloquium held at the Diversion 21 Hotel in Iloilo City on Oct. 13.

Local chief executives, municipal health officers, and planning and development officers received their certificates from DOH-6 Regional Director Dr. Adriano Suba-an and UPV Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Philip Ian Padilla.

Padilla, the MLGP team leader, served as the facilitator during the panel discussion and open forum where local chief executives and representatives of the 17 LGUs presented their health programs and interventions as part of the MLGP.

The LGUs gave presentations on specific concerns of their areas and their interventions, particularly on maternal health, teenage pregnancy, infectious diseases, malnutrition, and sanitation.
