Iloilo City as a highly urbanized city continues to make innovative and sustainable developments that will impact the lives of our people.
One of these efforts of the local government is to build condominium relocation buildings for the Ilonggos. The four Uswag Residential Buildings in San Isidro, Jaro is a project in partnership with SMDC, SM Development Corporation, SM Prime Holdings Inc., DHSUD, and BALAI Filipino Communities. This will create homes for 120 Ilonggo families. This is their first low-rise building project in the entire country.
With the MOA signing, construction will finally begin on the site. Mayor Jerry Treñas is pleased to announce that the Local Government Unit of Iloilo City has finalized this agreement. In addition, he shared that he is glad that after a long time, they have finally signed the Memorandum of Agreement (“MOA”).
This was one of the projects the Mayor has pushed for in his Welfare, Health, and Sanitation, Education, Environmental Management, Livelihood, Sustainability (“WHEELS”) program which will give provision for our informal settlers. My greatest thanks to the organization for their continuous support for our vision for the city and our people.
Perspective
More buildings will soon rise in partnership with Senator Franklin Drilon, Julienne “Jam” Baronda, National Housing Authority and the allocated funds by the Iloilo City Government for the Ilonggos without proper homes.
