Guimaras Tightens Restrictions on Mass Gatherings

The Province of Guimaras has strengthened the policies and protocols implemented on the island amid the threat posed by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Omicron variant.

Governor Samuel T. Gumarin signed Executive Order No. 11, series of 2022 on January 31 amending items 2.1, 2.5, and 2.8 of Executive Order No. 3, series of 2022 RE: proactive measures against the possible surge of COVID-19 in the province.

Effective January 31, 2022, under certain provisions of Executive Order No. 3, series of 2022 all business establishments may be allowed to open, except entertainment and amusement venues, such as but not limited to recreation centers, karaoke bars, bars, clubs, billiard centers, internet cafes, and computer shops.

Further, dine-in services in food establishments and resorts may be allowed to cater to fully vaccinated guests only, which shall not exceed 30% of indoor venue capacity and 50% of outdoor venue capacity.
Only fully vaccinated guests may be allowed in hotels or accommodation establishments which in no case shall exceed the maximum venue capacity”.

Venues of meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) shall not exceed 30% of indoor venue capacity and 50% of outdoor venue capacity.

Permitted venues for social events such as parties, wedding receptions, engagement parties, wedding anniversaries, debut and birthday parties, family reunions, and bridal or baby showers shall not exceed 30% of indoor venue capacity and 50% of outdoor venue capacity.

Tourism sites and destinations can accommodate guests not exceeding 30% of indoor venue capacity and 50% of outdoor capacity.

Moreover, mass and social gatherings that compromise the minimum health standards are prohibited.
Places or areas made as a venue for gatherings to include those devoted to worship, necrological services, wakes, inurnment, and funerals for those who died of causes other than COVID-19 and for the cremains of the COVID-19 deceased, must comply with a maximum 30% indoor venue capacity and 50% outdoor venue capacity.

All other provisions of Executive Order No. 03, series of 2022 shall remain to be in full force and effect.
