Gilbert Gonzales Labordo is a self-taught artist from Barangay Capangyan, Lambunao Town, in central Iloilo Province.
He honed his artistic skills through a two-year technical drafting course at Lambunao Institute of Science and Technology, which is now the West Visayas State University – Lambunao Campus. He owns and runs a printing and advertising shop in Jaro, Iloilo City.
“I have been joining art exhibitions since 2009,” says Labordo, who is a member of the Himbon contemporary artists’ group of Iloilo. “I paint what my heart dictates.”
