UPV MACH Receives Filipiniana Dress Ensemble, Book on Malacañang Palace

The UPV Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (MACH) received the donation of a Filipiniana dress ensemble designed by Maria Beatriz “Patis” Tesoro and a book on the Malacañang Palace written by Nick Joaquin from former Department of Tourism Secretary Narzalina Lim.

The dress was made mainly of patadyong from Miagao, Iloilo. It was worn by the former secretary at important functions during her term. The dress will be on view at the Panapton Textile Gallery of the UPV MACH.

The book is a welcome addition to the existing collection of art and culture books in the UPV Office of Initiatives in Culture of the Arts (OICA).

The gifts were received by Prof. Martin Genodepa, director of OICA, on behalf of the University. The event was witnessed by Ms. Cedie Lopez-Vargas of the Lopez Museum, who visited UPV MACH for a future collaboration.

UPV provided Ms. Lopez-Vargas with a copy of the book Kadagatan Tubtob Kabukidan: From the Seas to the Mountains Traditional Knowledge Systems of Panay and Guimaras (2018) for the Lopez Library. (OICA)
