Mayor Jerry Trenas immediately announced in his Facebook Page that Iloilo City has been receiving a lot of pledges and donations from his friends and the whole Ilonggo community. After the confirmation of the 1st positive COVID-19 patient, the mayor is happy to see Ilonggos helping out other fellow Ilonggos and it gives him a sign that there is hope in humanity that we will be able to win against COVID-19.
In the post, he personally thanked those who donated and he stressed out that it is our solidarity will make us strong as we fight through this crisis. The following donors are: Henry Chusuey of Hennan Resorts – 3.5M in cash, Injap Sia – 1M in cash and 500 sacks of rice, Luis Go – 1,500 hotmeals for frontliners, Edgar Tiu of Imperial Appliance – 500k, Light of Glory – 250k. He also mentioned that the cash donations is to be used for purchase of accredited testing kits and PPEs.
These donations will be on top of the donation given by the Que Family of Iloilo Supermart.
