UPV, Iloilo City Gov’t to Showcase Reg’l Filmmakers’ Works at ‘CineMapadayon’

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) and the Iloilo City Government will showcase the works of regional filmmakers at the first “CineMapadayon” film festival slated this Oct. 17 to 21.

CineMapadayon is a venue to highlight filmmakers from Western Visayas, their work, and their contribution to tourism, history, and culture of the region. 

A total of 19 films, divided into four sets will be shown at the UPV Cinematheque, Iloilo City campus on the said dates.

The directors and their works that are part of the festival are:

  • Kim Janus N Justo – Antos Anak 
  • Mile Gomilla – Balda Bari 
  • Jonathan Jurilla – Tiempo Suerte 
  • Manie Magbanua Jr. – Ugbos ka Bayabas
  • Leo Art Diosep Borres – Exploration XY 
  • TM Malones – Sin-o ang Tiktik? 
  • Mark Joseph Perez – Marikudo 
  • JR Macahilas & Genevieve Cabarte – Sa Direksyon ni Makoy: The Final Cut 
  • Kevin Pison Piamonte – SOLO
  • Mark Raymund Garcia – Mga Bag-ong Nawong (sang Damgo kag Katingalahan) 
  • Edgar Joseph Derecho – Huni Kang Pungaw 
  • Raymund Encanto Salao – ANIMO 
  • Luisa G. Nalupano – Panihol Sang Katungdan (Whistle of the West) 
  • TM Malones – Bawod
  • Richard D. Olano, Jr. – Litaniya Sang Dutang Ginpatumbayaan 
  • Dennis Hubag – Ang Duyan Ko Sa Panganod 
  • Niño B. Maldecir – Mata Kang Busay 
  • Kenneth De la Cruz – Sa Pagpula sang Lawod 
  • Arlie Sweet Sumagaysay & Richard Jeroui Salvadico – Mga Handum nga Nasulat sa Baras

CineMapadayon was officially launched during the Iloilo Arts Festival event launched last Oct. 5 in Iloilo City.
