The Iloilo City Government will soon have e-payment as a component of its business one-stop shops (BOSS) in various malls in the metro.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas wants to have digitalized and online payment transactions established to further bring the ease of doing business here to the next level.
“We are pursuing this move as we continue to attract more investors to Iloilo City and to help local businesses thrive despite the pandemic,” he said.
The electronic business permitting and licensing system is now being finalized by the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office through coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
With the system, face-to-face interaction will be lessened following the provision of the Anti-Red Tape Act or ARTA on the ease of doing business, said LEDIPO head Velma Jane Lao.
“This will be an end-to-end process wherein simple transactions can be done within three days, seven days for complex transactions, and 20 days for highly technical transactions,” she added.
The one-stop shops operate in malls every January to cater to the increasing number of those applying for the renewal of business permits.
Part of the BOSS is the Investment Services Business Permits and Licensing Division, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Treasurer’s Office, Office of the City Zoning Administrator, City Health Office-Sanitation Division, City Tourism and Development Office, Office of the Building Official, Boarding House Commission, Task Force on Internet, Gaming Center, Anti-Piracy and Pornography, and City Environment and Natural Resources Office.
