DTI Iloilo Promotes “Bring Your Own Water Bottle”

The DTI Iloilo Provincial Office will kick-off its campaign to restrain the purchase and use of single use plastics, particularly in the workplace, said OIC-Provincial Director Felisa Judith L. Degala.

In line with the observance of the World Consumers Rights Day, on March 15, DTI Iloilo will initiate the “bring your own water bottle week” where employees will avoid the purchase of single use plastic bottles for their drinking needs.

World Consumer Day

With the theme “Sustainable Consumer,” this year’s celebration focuses its campaign on the need for sustainable consumption globally, as well as highlighting the important role that consumer and the establishments can play.

Aside from the initiative, DTI Iloilo will also conduct activities that would remind businesses and consumers about the importance of sustainable consumerism and how it can help address the current problems.

These activities will include the Entrepreneurship Seminar, the conduct of lecture forum in the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay, and through the advocacy materials that will be distributed in all 28 Negosyo Centers in the Province of Iloilo.
