Ang Kamalig is another place you should check out when you are in Iloilo. The restaurant is serving Ilonggo cuisine which makes it a great place for travelers, family bonding and even simple catch up with friends.
The visit happened after Wordcamp in Iloilo – the First Ever Wordcamp in the country outside Metro Manila. It was a day filled with new learning, acquaintances and experiences and it deserves to be topped with a sumptuous dinner – thanks to Ang Kamalig for running social media contest where I am chosen as one of the lucky winner.
Ang Kamalig Menu
Ang Kamalig offers various meals – from Pinoy favorites and classic menu to their house specialty and desserts. Here are the meals you can order from Ang Kamalig:
What We Had
We had a big bowl of pancit molo, chicken inasal spring rolls, sizzling crab meat and plain rice at Ang Kamalig. The soup of the Molo is best to sooth our tired senses and the other things we ordered complemented well with each other.
My personal favorite is the sizzling crab meat where the sabaw of the molo and rice goes well together.
How to get There
Ang Kamalig is located at The Atria. At the moment, the only jeepney that is passing by the area is Oton Derecho and Anhawan from Molo Area. For people coming from other parts of the city, you can ride jeepneys passing by Diversion Road – SM City Proper, Mandurriao SM City, Ungka ITGSI, Leganes Highway, Pavia and Sta. Barbara. Just get off in the Atria block and you can walk a block to get there.
The place has a good ambiance. It may give you a real kamalig feel while it is situated at the heart of the city. There are chairs and tables available to accommodate large groups of people.
