As mental health advocates from the Global Shapers Iloilo Hub knows that COVID-19 is a global health concern. It poses a threat not only to our physical health but mental health as well. For the past days and weeks, they have been hearing a lot of information and news from social media. It may have stressed us out and made them feel anxious.
If you feel you need psycho-social support, Agubayni have compiled a list of some of the mental health initiatives. These are around the city to cater to your needs.
So, who are these mental health responders and how could they be of help?
Western Visayas Psychosocial Support for COVID-19
This group is a team of licensed mental health professionals across Western Visayas. They aim to provide psychosocial support through telecommunication. Message them your concern, read and fill in the consent forms and they will refer and set an appointment with you.

WVMC Department of Psychiatry
Likewise, WVMC is the main COVID hospital for Western Visayas. Despite the demands to cater to COVID patients the WVMC Department of Psychiatry is open to attend to all mental health concerns of all Ilonggos. However, priority may be given to frontliners and health care workers. To regulate one on one sessions, you may message and set an appointment with them at 2pm-4pm.

Another government hospital ideally intended for non-COVID patients also offers mental health support to you. You may relay your concerns to WVSU-MC Department of Psychiatry. The ideal way is through their Facebook Page or contact number.
